I am sure that you have seen/ read many rave reviews floating around the internet about the Pixi Glow Tonic. With that in mind, I won’t go into too much detail about it as you’ve probably heard it all before. Instead, I will share how it has worked on my hypersensitive skin- Just in case any of you gals/guys with sensitive or reactive skin are interested:)

It took me a while to purchase the glow tonic only because I wasn’t sure if it would be suitable for my sensitive skin type. The words ‘chemical exfoliant ‘ brought scary thoughts to my mind of my skin turning RED and tingling like crazy. If you have sensitive skin, then you’ll know that the struggle is REAL when finding effective skin care products that contain stronger chemical-based ingredients as you never know how your skin will react. I was happy using my St Ives exfoliating cleanser that I had been using for years but wanted to try a chemical base exfoliating toner that contained AHAS.

The main ingredients in glow tonic are 5% Glycolic acid, Aloe Vera and Ginseng. The fact that it only contained 5% Glycolic acid and is enriched with Aloe Vera bought some comfort to my mind. Plus it isn’t as strong as other AHA exfoliate toners that are on market.

I have to say that trying the Pixi Glow Tonic was a gamble that has definitely paid off as it has exceeded my expectations and more!! From the very first use, I instantly noticed a huge difference in my skin. It left it feeling and looking smooth, plump and radiant.  Also to my delight, there was no sight of redness or tingling. I didn’t want to get ahead of myself and form a quick opinion, so I decided to try it out for a good month or so before I started singing its praises!

It states that it can be used both in the AM and PM although, I only use it once a day, either in the AM or PM. I do believe that it is gentle enough to use daily, but I like to use it every other day and alternate it with my non-chemical based toners to give my skin a break.  I find that this is a great product to put on your skin after you have squeezed your pimples as it immediately soothes & flattens that area. It’s also great to use before you apply on your makeup or any heavy makeup as it really helps to smooth the skin’s surface, making your foundation apply on seamlessly… skin prep is key to smooth looking skin!:)

Let me not forget to mention how much it has brightened up my complexion and made my skin texture appear a lot more even. It also fades away any marks that I may have had from any blemishes a lot quicker. If you have any skin discolouration or dark spots then you need this bad boy in your life!

I have to say that it has continued to amaze me and I will go as far as saying that it is the best toner that I’ve ever used! It has become a staple in my skincare routine and I have already ordered a backup!  It instantly makes my dry skin feel hydrated, smooth and have a dewy & healthy glow. I have also noticed that my pores appear smaller after I have used it and also a reduction in breakouts which I feel is down to the glycolic acid and the thorough exfoliation it provides.

If you have acne-prone or dry skin, then you need this in your life!! In fact, I feel this will be suitable for most skin types as it is such a multifaceted and an amazing product!  It comes in two sizes, 100 ml & 250 ml, so you can always try the smaller size first if you are on the fence about trying it. You can purchase it here at lookfantastic UK or Cult Beauty.

Have you tried the Pixi Glow Tonic, what is your favourite exfoliating toner?

I’m just trying this now and I have had it for about a week, I’m really skeptics with skincare. It doesn’t make huge changes for me (skincare) but I was struggling with some breakouts on my forehead pretty consistently and now they seem to be subsiding and the only things I have changed are adding this and doing a L’Oréal face scrub thing… I’m on the fence still!

I’m glad you see a difference with your skin 😊 I was on the fence about it as well, but I absolutely love it now. I would probably say to use it just on its own without using the L’Oreal scrub to see which product is helping. I try to use in every other day or every few days to give my skin a break which works a treat!
