If you have been following me for a while, then you’ll know that I have a huge soft spot for REN Skincare. Many of their products have become staples in my skincare routine and I honestly feel that they get don’t enough recognition. For me, skincare that contains quality ingredients is key, and one of the reasons why I love REN is because they are specialists in providing that. I know that I can trust that the ingredients that I’m putting on my skin are safe & will not irritate my sensitive skin.
As you can imagine, I was thrilled when REN sent me some of their products to try out a while ago, which including the Ren Vita Mineral™ Omega 3 Optimum Skin Oil. I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to try out the oil as my skin tends to not react well to oil-based products. It wasn’t until winter came round and played havoc on my skin that I decided to dig it out and give it a go! I’ve been using the Optimum Skin Oil for a couple of months now and I have to say that it has completely transformed and restored my dry skin back to life! I NEVER EVER expected an oil to have such a positive impact on my skin, so I thought that it definitely deserved a glowing review to make people aware of this wondrous product 🙂

Vitamin E from Rice Germ Oil fights free radicals and protects from oxidative damage
How I like to use it
Although you can use this oil up to twice a day, I like to use it once a day as part of my morning skincare routine. The directions state that you can apply 2 or 3 drops under your moisturiser or makeup, but I personally like to apply one & a half drops to my La Roche-Posay Hydreane Rich Moisturizing Cream for Sensitive Skin. I have found that a little goes a long way and I feel that two-three drops will be a little too much for my tiny pea head, hehe! I do not recommend applying it straight onto your skin without mixing it, as I initially did that and my skin did have a slight reaction to it.
Application & finish
Once I massage the oil into my skin, it sinks in beautifully without leaving any greasy residue. It feels extremely lightweight and just feels like I’ve applied on an extremely hydrating moisturiser. I can also comfortably apply my illuminating primer on top without it feeling too heavy. It instantly hydrates, plumps and rejuvenates my skin, making my skin look super healthy and glowy. I can truthfully say that I have never experienced this during the winter months.
I would’ve thought that foundation and oil would be a disastrous combination for my sensitive skin, but I can safely say that I haven’t experienced any issues. In fact, it makes my foundation apply on top seamlessly, without the usual winter flaky skin. This oil is perfect to pop on during ‘no makeup days’ as it gives my skin a natural and radiant glow-which I feel is down to the all the omega goodness that it contains…Can you tell I’m loving this oil yet?
One thing I will point out is that you need to use this in conjunction with a good skincare routine. You need to ensure that you are cleansing and exfoliating your skin thoroughly so that your skin can absorb the great ingredients it contains & reap the full benefits 🙂
As described, this oil has been truly transformative to my skin. I usually suffer from extremely dry and tight skin during wintertime but have had nothing of the sort since I’ve been using this oil. It nourishes my dehydrated skin while making it feel smooth and supple. I have never used a product that has nourished and calmed my skin as much as this has. I have also noticed that my skin appears a lot more even and clearer! This could be down to the Rose Hip Seed Oil it contains which is renowned for stimulating the skin cells, which help fade marks & hyperpigmentation over time.
As If I didn’t love this oil enough, I have also found out that it is one of Caroline Hiron’s (a well-known & respected beauty blogger) highly recommended products. You know that if Caroline Hiron recommends a product then it must be good! If you are looking for a nourishing & impactful face oil and you have sensitive skin, then look no further, as I guarantee you will not be able to live without this one!
